The Chapel, dedicated to Our Lady “STELLA MARIS” (Star of the Sea), is situated on Plots B9 and B10, measuring 9l4 sq.m, in "St. Mary’s Colony”, Miramar, on the outskirts of Panaji City, the Capital of the State of Goa.

The land was donated in 1977 by the “Confrarias Reunidas da lgreja de Panjim” in memory of Maria Pereira, who had gifted in 1898 the entire property, now constituting “St. Mary’s Colony”, to the said 'Confrarias Reunidas'

The foundation was blessed and laid by His Excellency Patriarch Raul Nicolau Gonsalves, Archbishop of Goa aud Daman, on 12th September 1982. The Chapel was blessed and inaugurated by him on 30th May 1989.

The Chapel was extended in 1995. In 1997, a Community Hall was built over the extended part of the Chapel. In 1999, a Presbytery was constructed, the ground floor being the office and the sanitary installations, the first floor being the Chaplain’s Residence and the second floor housing the guest room for visiting priests, there being a small terrace adjoining to it.
